SAFETY FIRST A NEW COOPERATION WITH THE GERMAN SEA RESCUE SERVICE From now on, there is a cooperation between the German Maritime Search and Rescue Association (GMSRA) and FLYSURFER Kiteboarding. Each newly delivered FLYSURFER kite in Germany will be accompanied with a weatherproof identification sticker of the German Sea Rescue Service, on which personal details of the kite-owner and a further contact person can be entered. If a kite gets found out at sea, the owner or his contact person can immediately be contacted to clarify the situation. This creates a win-win situation: The Sea Rescue Service saves time and money, if the certainty exists that the rider is on safe shore. And the kitesurfer can get his/her kite back after recovery. This cooperation is supported by the Association of German Watersports Schools (VDWS). Surfers and kitersurfers can order this practical sticker for free, for their personal use at the Sea Rescue Service by an e-mail to [email protected] Please don´t forget to include your postal address. By the way: If you lost your material and are back safe on land, you do not necessarily have to wait for a phone-call. Just call the DISTRESS LINE +49 (0) 421 53 68 70 and describe your lost gear. A “Lost & Found” list is pro-actively being updated. Safety First - stay safe! Alerting the Bremen Rescue emergency: +49 (0) 421 53 68 70 FLYSURFER NEWS GERMAN SEA RESCUE SERVICE NEWS GERMAN SEA RESCUE SERVICE HOMEPAGE IKA registration - why is the unique plaque ID number so important? Even if a FLYSURFER kite construction is officially approved for kite racing in the IKA class – Formula Kite, this does NOT mean that the kite itself is automatically IKA registered. This must be registered by the rider him/herself, so that he/she is allowed to officially compete in the IKA class – Formula Kite and it’s specific events. The rules are quite clearly - if a racekite is used in an official Formula Kite – IKA class event, which has NO unique IKA plaque ID number on the IKA entered plaque, the rider(s) will be immediately disqualified and must reckon with a potential ban for future events. For us as manufacturer it has not such a dramatic effect, but it would certainly have a bitter aftertaste for us as a passionate kite-racing brand and the kite racer(s) in question. And that is why we inform you again pro-actively - so you know, and you can also spread this information competently to your co-racers who involves this! IMPORTANT: The FLYSURFER kites BOOST1, SONIC-FR and BOOST2 are currently registered by the IKA as a registered series production kite. BUT the kites, which are actually used during IKA Formula Kite or EC/WC Formula Kite/Hydrofoil events, must be equipped with a unique IKA Plaque ID number. This unique ID number you ONLY receive after purchasing these performance kites - AND registering these kites yourself on the FLYSURFER Homepage for official use in IKA kite class competitions. Furthermore the model and manufacturer’s serial number must be entered on the IKA plaque as well (see blue marking on the photo). FLYSURFER will send you a unique ID number, and this must be written, by the rider himself, with permanent marker on the IKA badge location, which is printed on the kite (see red marking on the photo). This is how the form looks on the FLYSURFER Homepage and here is the direct link to it VIDEO: Need 4 Speed – Lewis Wilby Awesome video of FLYSURFER Kiteboarding rider and European Champion KiteLandBoard Freestyle Lewis Wilby in KiteLandBoard action on the SPEED4 Lotus and SPEED5, mixing up different riding styles into a stylish KLB edit, to quote him: “Shot during the winter of 2016, this video shows how important it can be to have a bigger kite for those low wind days. Without the 18m SPEED there is no way I could have won every round of the British and European Championships in 2015.” For more information, go to: flysurfer.com or lewiswilby.co.uk Please watch this video! It's just nice to see that the most influential KLB Rider of the last 10 years has chosen to ride for FLSURFER and is also really happy with it! Thumbs up ! VIDEO: BOOST 2 da sky!!!
